  • What is the Protocol for Covid-19?

As of June 11, 2022, most Ontario mask mandates were lifted. The Ministry of Health has asked each facility to perform a risk assessment and decide if continuing to mask is best for their practice.

I recommend my clients wear masks during their massage therapy treatments as we are in close contact for longer durations indoors.

I do respect and understand not everyone will be comfortable removing their masks and others do not feel comfortable with one. Either is fine. I am happy to welcome you however you feel most comfortable.

The health, safety and comfort of my patients are my top priority. I continue to meet or exceed all Covid-19 health and safety standards as directed by Ontario Public Health, Ottawa Public Health and my professional regulatory college. After each treatment, the treatment room is disinfected with enhanced cleaning procedures including the client's dedicated bathroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. I thank you again for your understanding and continued support.

  • What is Massage Therapy?

Performed by a registered massage therapist, Massage Therapy is a therapeutic, hands-on approach using different pressures, movements and techniques to manipulate muscles, joints and other soft tissues in the body. The goal is to relieve pain, ease muscle tension, slow down the nervous system, heal injuries and promote healing.

Whether you need relief from physical pain, an acute injury, or soreness from your workout – or you simply need relaxation, massage therapy provides massage therapy services to accommodate everyone.

Registered Massage Therapists or RMT are regulated health professionals in Ontario.

    • A Registered Massage Therapist is an licensed professional who has:
    • Completed Massage-based educational institutions recognized by the Government of Ontario Studied anatomy, physiology, pathology, physical assessment, neurology, treatments, and other related health subjects
    • Completed a minimum of 150+ clinical hours on the job
    • Successfully completed examinations and are Registered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Massage Therapy Act
    • Maintained their registration by participating in continuing education and Quality Assurance programs that assist in the maintenance of high professional standards and quality care of their massage clients
    • Only members of the College are permitted to use the title, Massage Therapist or Registered Massage Therapist or the designation of RMT or MT. All Ontario Massage Therapist Association members must be registered with the College and are therefore registered massage therapy practitioners.
  • Who is Massage Therapy for?

Massage Therapy is for individuals of all ages. A qualified Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) is trained to recognize conditions that are appropriate and recommend treatments specifically for each patient's unique situation.

  • What Should I Expect on My First Visit?

A health history form is sent in the first email to be filled out before your first visit. I will review this to ensure a safe and effective treatment plan.

The initial visit will involve an assessment and will be discussed with you to ensure that you're comfortable.

Let your RMT know immediately if you have any questions or concerns whether that involves the treatment, draping or any pain you may experience.

Your privacy will be respected at all times. The RMT will leave the room so that you may disrobe and cover yourself with the sheets on the table. You may remove as little of your clothing as you are comfortable with. During the treatment, you will be draped so that only the part of your body being treated is uncovered.

Communication with the therapist is an essential part of your massage. Your feedback is important to ensure your treatment goals are being met.

  • What Forms of Payments Are Accepted?

Direct billing is provided for most insurance companies. Should you want to do direct billing you will need to complete the online form attached to the Health History form sent to you in the first email to set it up before your treatment.
